WE GET IT: Track nights are super intimidating.
Why do we all know far more women training for a marathon than a 5k PB? ​ Fun runs on the road all over the world have exploded, but the track remains relatively exclusive to the 'serious runner'. This is a huge shame for a few reasons. 1. For those runners who do want to take part in a running event, we're pretty limited to half marathons or marathons 2. These longer events are magic in their own way but also have a much higher time commitment/required ability level, lead to more injuries and burnout, and people often plateau in their training as they keep doing the same thing 3. Mixing in some speed training for shorter distances is FUN and satisfying in a whole different way, and ultimately a great thing for your running longevity. ​​ However! Traditional track races are hard to find and are almost always targeted towards a very experienced runner. ​ It goes without saying, they're also generally very male-dominated; there will either be 5 male races for every 1 female race or you're lining up against 20 men and 1 other women. It truly doesn't feel like there is a space for amateur runners - particularly women - in the track world. This made us think: how could we do things differently? Can​ we create a 5k track race that feels accessible to women who haven't run on a track since high school? Who have previously felt the only distance worth training for was a half marathon +, or worse, that there isn't an event for them at all? Can we make track racing FUN as well as fast? It's time to bring the joy of track racing to amateur runners everywhere.​ Introducing: CHEEKY TRACK NIGHTS.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
WE'VE RE-IMAGINED TRACK NIGHTS TO MAKE THEM ACCESSIBLE, FUN AND TEAM-BASED
STEP 1
When you sign up, you'll opt in to the pace group ('team') you want to run with, based on​ based on your goal time for the night.

These track nights are being co-designed with the community, so fill out the Expression of Interest form by Nov 23 to help us figure out where to launch this first AND to help us understand what you're looking for!
STEP 2
On the night, your pacer ('team captain') will meet with you and your team before the race so you can warm up together before heading to the start line.

In the race, you'll work with your team + team captain to hit your goal time.
Some might break away, some might drop off the back, but for 90% of the race you'll carry each other.​
STEP 3
Post race, stick around to cheer on the other women and soak up the sunset.
​
Supporters + kids are so welcome; these are community events.
​
There will be food trucks, drinks, music, prizes, whatever we can wrangle.

1 / ACCESSIBILITY
All paces welcome. From our 50 mins+ 5k ladies to our sub 20 speed demons; if you run, you're a runner, and you belong at this event.
2 / TEAM-BASED
Track races can be suuuper intimidating, so we've re-designed track racing as a team sport. You're guaranteed to make friends with other women in your city who run at a similar pace to you!
3 / YOUR FASTEST 5K
Just because it's fun, doesn't mean it won't be fast. We'll have official timing, and you will be shocked by how much of a difference running on a track/in a pace group makes!
